Top Wedding venues in Essex

I wanted a create a blog about Top Wedding venues in Essex, now this isn’t comprehensive. There are some venues I haven’t worked at, or perhaps not worked at for a long time. That’s my little disclaimer that these aren’t the only top wedding venues in Essex!

I haven’t always lived I Essex, but my husband is a proper Essex boy and I fell in love with Essex soon after moving here. Its such a warm and friendly place to lie so its not surprising that it is home to lots of amazing wedding venues, that are not only stunning but equally friendly and lovely to work with.

So here goes (these aren’t in any particular order)

Wedding photography locations at Braxted Park

      Braxted Park

I don’t know whether its the grand driveway,  the pretty gardens or the fact that sunset seems to always be epic when I am photographing Braxted Park. I adore shooting weddings at Braxted Park, it was always going to make my list of Top Wedding venues in Essex. The grounds are seriously a photographers dreams (the interiors are pretty epic too).

      Gaynes Park

I am very fortunate to be one of Gaynes Park‘s recommended wedding photography suppliers. But not just that I love working at Gaynes Park. The grounds are just breathtaking, there are so many places to have your photographs from the walled garden, the driveway with London skyline, the Orangery and the sunset coming down across the fields. The staff are lovely, and the food is just spectacular I can understand why so many of my couples pick it for their own wedding. You can get married in the beautiful orangery or have an outdoor ceremony. The orangery full of glass letting in the light and surrounded by the gardens means you always feel like you are part of the outside whether you are in or out

      Blake Hall

Another stunning barn venue and I am also a recommended wedding photography supplier at Blake Hall and I love it every  single time. It feels like I’m catching up with good friends, the staff are all amazing, and Dave’s food is divine!! The grounds have so many areas you can create different looks for your photos. From the beautiful walled garden and house, to the willows that catch the sunset in golden hour. I love the ceremony barm, with big windows overlooking the gardens, the couple can really take it all in as they say I do.

      Hedingham Castle

Hedingham Castle is like having two beautiful venues in one. The ceremony in the medieval Norman castle – possibly the best preserved Norman keep in England. The castle fortifications and outbuildings were built around 1100, and the keep around 1140! Candle lit ceremonies are like a  fairytale. But then take a walk (with confetti) across the bridge and head into the pretty garden overlooking the lake and then a stunning marquee for your reception, you really do have it all in one.

      Gosfield Hall

Want to get married in a Palace? Gosfield Hall is  Georgian mansion, set in ten acres of stunning grounds and parkland and overlooking Gosfield Lake. It was a royal palace in 16th century, and with its ballroom and possibly the most amazing bridal suite to get ready and for your first night as Mr and Mrs in the Rococo Honeymoon suite has a huge wow factor.

      Hatfield Place

I have only been to Hatfield Place once, but it left a big impression, a fairly new venue. It is breathtaking, full of beautiful light and stunning photography spots. I love the big windows overlooking the fields as you say I do, its the perfect country manor for your day. So it had to make my list of top wedding venues in Essex

      Baddow Park House

Set in the prettiest of Essex countryside, Baddow Park House mixes traditional with contemporary interiors. I love the light coming through to main reception room, a stunning cottage to get ready in as well as the beautiful bedrooms. As well as the beautiful gardens it really does have  so many secret spots inside for couple photos! And the team are  the absolute best! I always love working with Gaynor

      The Roslin

Being right on the beach, with palm trees on the Promenade, a Roslin wedding can feel almost abroad (and in the photos at Golden hour it definitely looks like you could be in the med). I love the Roslin, perfect for an intimate wedding where you want those beach photos without the travel, with amazing food to go with it too!

      Leez Priory

Leez Priory is a 16th century mansion has so many places you can say I do, from in front of the Great Tower or the carriageway in front of the mansion, or inside the Great Hall and inside the Coach House Barn. Whichever you pick will have a real wow factor!

      Channels

I photographed  Chloe and James outdoor wedding at Channels last year, I loved the garden feel of the day. With the prettiest of florals it really was a perfect Spring day! Then heading into the barn for their amazing vegan reception with an amazing singer they  really got the party started!

      Houchins

Surrounded by their own fields, there are so man y spots for photos and its different depending on when you get married. My favourite has to be the fields of Borage, but the hay bales make an impressive backdrop too. You can  have an “outdoor” wedding no matter the weather  with their marquee ceremony tent and then head into the high ceiling barn for the wedding reception and party!

      Vaulty Manor

If you want to have the most relaxing  morning with ALL those closest to you, I love that Vaulty Manor has a pretty cottage for you all to stay in  together and get ready together, but its so pretty that it makes an amazing backdrop for photos later too!

      Apton Hall

With pretty rustic charm I have only been lucky enough to photograph one wedding so far at Apton Hall but it was a  particular stunning one, with the gorgeous courtyard for your ceremony and garden by the lake its perfect for a beautiful intimate wedding
