The lovely Toby and Lara married at the wonderful Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster. Toby’s dad owns Stubbers Adventure Centre (a registered charity run by trustees and managers motivated by a passion for introducing young people to adventure activities), which is quite the family connection, as it was the perfect setting for their reception! Brownie points to Dad!
We got to do some beautiful fine art photography portraits in Toby’s parents garden, as they live on site; it was beautifully personal and such a fab day!
The Venue
Stubbers Adventure Centre is such a vast scape of land, with over 700 years of history! I absolutely loved the lake, and when sunset came around headed there for some portraits. All of that natural beauty really tied in with the lush foliage that was weaved in throughout their day.
We did have some rain during their reception and everyone ran for cover under the marquees – but as they say, rain is lucky, and it didn’t stop these two and all of their guests smiling!
As the day drew to a close, the couple cut their wedding cake, made by the experts at The Source Coffee Shop (I have to also mentioned LOS Donuts, who created the beautiful doughnut selection as a cake alternative (or addition, depending who you’re speaking to)!) and headed to the dance floor. They partied the night away to the fab sounds of their live band, Soul Fresh, and we also enjoyed a beautiful set by Daniel Broadhurst.
The Couple
For Lara and Toby, the MOST important element of the day was their church service. Lara is off to Theological college to train and become ordained, and they met through their church. Religion is a huge part of their lives.
It was wonderful to watch how personal the service was and how much it meant to them both – it really was a beautiful ceremony.
Lara’s stunning dress was by Alfred Angelo, I was blown away by all of the beading and lace detailing covering the dress – Lara looked a dream! The dress was complimented perfectly by a white bridal bouquet, by Doris The Florist, and Lara’s bridesmaids had a few splashes of pink in their bouquets to match their beautiful dresses. Toby looked very sharp in his Moss Bros suit, the grey colours complimenting Lara’s dress in every way!
A Note From Toby & Lara
The thing we loved most about our day was the ceremony. Saying those vows to each other was the most powerful thing and knowing that everyone in the room is on your side and loves you. Overwhelming.
We were so pleased we chose Julia and You as our photographer, the level of professionalism and attention to detail was superb. We adored the final photos and “Julia and You” really managed to capture what was important to us.
If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding, and you love fine art photography and luxury prints, then get in touch! We would love to hear from you.
