Kelly and Stephen originally planned their Autumn Gaynes Park wedding for the spring of 2020, but we know what happened with that year! I first met Kelly and Stephen at my son’s preschool, I didnt know them well but they had been told I was a wedding photographer. That was January 2019. That year our two boys would start school together in the same class and become good friends, and Kelly and I became really good friends. My husband became equally great friends with Stephen. Little did we know that April 2020 wasnt going to happen. So when we plunged into the world of covid, we tried to make the best of the situation together, we did a virtual engagement session on their original wedding date (via a phone not in person as that wasnt allowed). So when their 4th date finally arrived and thy were allowed to say I do it was like going to one of my besties weddings, in fact Ian and my children joined the party! Covid brought some awful things with it, but the friendships I made with some of my couples, especially Kelly and Stephen will last a lifetime.
With all that goes with becoming friends and having our boys in the same class, I became friends with their lovely family too. Stephens mum and dad invited me and the kids over when it was allowed to the garden to hang out too. So their wedding was a real family celebration, so when just a short while after the wedding Stephen’s dad passed away very suddenly without warning I was heartbroken for them all. But so grateful we got to photograph him so proud watching them get married. Thank you all of you for having me photograph such important memories. Over to Kelly…
What did you like about working with me?
Julia has been with us from the very beginning of our journey to get married , with multiple delays due to covid she offered calmness in a sea of stress her advice and understanding.
I remember visiting her studio at the very start of our wedding journey and looking through her beautiful work and just knowing she was the one for us . Having Julia as our wedding photographer was a blessing as our day ran seamlessly with her. She’s great at directing and getting that perfect shot. From Julia’s fine art photography in our couples photos to Michelle’s documentary style photos of our guests , both have the skill and talent in which captures a couples and families personality in their photos . Our wedding photos really do tell the story of our wedding day and they are beautiful memories we will treasure forever.

What are your favourite memories of the your Autumn Gaynes Park wedding?
We both have so many favourite memories with Julia from our wedding but one of my personal favourite memories with her has to be when I was getting ready in the coach house at Gaynes park . I’d just had my make up look complete and put my dress on . Julia and I both looked at each other and it was a very emotional moment … finally after everything the wedding was happening , then my son Charlie came up the stairs with my father and the photos she took show the love and magic of that very moment.
We both also love the way she included our son in the photos and got him to help out as her little assistant on the veil shots. Charlie loved it and the photos came out absolutely stunning. Julia captured the fun we have as a little family perfectly.
We sadly lost Stephens father a few months after our wedding and the photos we have of him from our big day show how proud he was of Stephen. The photos are so very special to us.
