My sister says I’m the best wedding photographer ever

I often sit at the laptop wondering what to type, and never has that been more apparent than now. I am not a natural writer, I express myself through photography, in my head I have long stories, but when it comes to typing I cant express myself. But this wedding is obviously pretty special, it belongs to my own baby sister, it stars my own children, my husband, my mum and dad, my other sister, my niece and nephew, my brother in laws (who I actually love a lot despite winding them up). All the people that make up my world and mean the world to me.

Capturing it for the first time in years seemed daunting, I go to weddings all the time and nothing phases me, but your own two year old walking towards you, is pretty momentous especially when Katie was first engaged he couldn’t walk and we weren’t sure if he would be walking, and never imagined even at Christmas he would walk without a frame. But walk he did, helped along by his big cousin George and followed by my angel Mia and the equally pretty Annabelle, Elodie and Whalley (Emma technically but no-one calls her that)

As the bride walked down the aisle, it wasn’t someone I was getting to know and being entrusted to capture the important moments of their life, it was my own sister and my dad.

They said their vows, they threw confetti, we did a ton of group shots, the kids played croquet. We had dinner, we listened as Mark attempting to take on the “Ford sisters” in his speech and then everyone danced. The last of the Fords is married… and I may not be the best wedding photographer ever, I am pretty cool though, but to my family I am.
