It’s always a little extra special when you head to a wedding of someone you know, Nicki and I didn’t worked alongside each other for very long, as she started just before I was leaving WEDDING magazine, but turns out I made an impression – which is kind of nice! When she got engaged she said I was one of the first people she contacted. Being the ex designer at WEDDING magazine – it was obvious Nicki was going to have a lot of ideas and she didn’t disappoint any of her guests, and set in one of our favourite venues (Michelle got married there too!) Gaynes Park was the perfect setting.
I loved all her little ideas from the flag flying instead of confetti, plant pot table plan, the mini bouquets her florists Shrinking violet hung from the trees, the locket in her bouquet of her grandmother (so she would be walking down the aisle with her too), her brother and his husband’s AMAZING cake (the flowers on the cake and cupcakes are all handcrafted sugar and like little works of art), the story of their day on the ceremony chairs…. well lets just say it was all thought about. Even their funny first dance – way better than John Travolta and Uma Thurman’s original – they would definitely get first prize.
Michelle and I loved sharing your day with you both, thank you for having us!
