Last week I headed up to West Mersea one very early and sunny morning. When Jenny had got in touch we chatted about the perfect location for them and she wasn’t sure anywhere came instantly to mind, but the one thing she did want was colour. So I sent her a bunch of ideas of different places from lavender fields to funfairs, including the beautiful pastel beach huts of West Mersea, and Jenny was instantly sold. I first saw the beach huts on a blog, and wanted to do a shoot their myself so travelled up in winter this year – and it was SUPER cold.
So it was so lovely when we arrived to bright sunshine for our early morning shoot. Oh and the reason it was so early – wasn’t because Jenny and Sam love early starts but because West Mersea has high tides which stop you getting on and off the island and we realised when we booked the date we would have to be there super early to get it done. But the added bonus is we made a little trip to the lovely Tiptree Jam for a afternoon tea afterwards – at breakfast time!
