Last year the epic team at Rock my wedding asked me if I would like to do an editorial fashion shoot with them… I thought about it for less than a millisecond whilst jumping up and down with excitement, and then of course said a big YES please!! Behind the scenes the talented Lolly got busy styling to create a really amazing storyboard of ideas, then one tuesday last month I headed down to South London to a beautiful victorian house to help create and visualise their ideas for this months Valentine editorial (their first editorial of 2014). They had chatted to me about their ideas and when they described a pretty romantic ethereal shoot with blush pinks and pastel tones with added colour and fun for Valentines, I jumped up and down a bit more.

The day itself started pretty early for me (the joys of London traffic), as I headed down to South London from Upminster, and I arrived to a cool buzz of activity. Lolly busy styling with the rest of the team, hair and makeup for the gorgeous “bride” for the day Tess. We had a pretty hectic schedule for the day but it was a lot of fun watching it come together. We were pretty lucky as it was a very bright sunny day so I just added to the natural light with a little from my continuous lighting system to keep it as natural as possible. Of course as the day wore on it go dark by mid afternoon so the beautiful shots on the couch are all light by continuous lighting using a a super wide aperture to keep the tones and look as soft as possible. By the time it was a wrap the day had literally flown by in minutes it felt like. (On the day itself Charlotte was shooting for Rock my style with Adam and Anna Clarke, so it was pretty cool watching everything that was going on with them as it evolved too). In the end this is what we created together and I think it is pretty wonderful.

If you don’t know Rock my wedding, they are one of my favourite wedding blogs, although I do admit I am a big fan of quite a few equally wonderful blogs, it is like a wedding magazine online – only better not only is it free but they update several times a day, so always something new to love! Now head over to Rock my wedding blog to see the rest of the shoot by clicking here

Of course the shoot could never have been created without an AMAZING team: I will admit I have a huge weakness for beautiful flowers and they were no exception, and it was so lovely meeting them in person but everyone who contributed is clearly amazing and at the top of their wedding game!
