I sometimes have to pinch myself how lucky I am… and today is one of those days. After my last newborn photography shoot of the year (I also run a beautiful fine art baby photography studio over at www.juliaandmia.com) I decided to round off the year I would ATTEMPT to put my 2013 post together for weddings. And WOW!!! It was EPIC.
It the busiest year I’ve had so far in nine years of photographing weddings. And I really couldn’t have asked for more amazing people to work with. Kicking my year off with Matt and Nikki’s 1920’s wedding, to the most emotional first look ever of Kathryn and Theo. From Kate’s wonderful giggles as they cut the cake, to Stacey’s breathtaking wedding at Lympne castle. From Alison and Lee jumping on their honeymoon suite bed. From hula hoops, dancing in aisles and splat the rat games. Banghra dancing to a choccywockydoodah chemistry inspired cake (as you can see it was a show stopper). From llamas and ribbons in trees, to a beautiful horse as guest of honour. There are so many memories and EVERY wedding was special to me in its own way. Ive got to work with some of the most amazing venues, florists, hair and makeup artists. I couldnt imagine it getting any better. except now I am looking forward to 2014 and you know what my diary is pretty much fully booked for the year and I cant wait to start. Gemma and Trent who live all the way over in Australia but are returning to Gemma’s home for their wedding next year, will be my first wedding of 2014. Its been amazing and yes I am lucky aren’t I?
(Photos are in no particular order, some are together others arent. Just for fun, see if you can spot you!)
HUGE thanks to Ian, Larissa and Hannah who I couldnt do without. Ian my husband who is my assistant extraordinaire at some of the weddings and generally has to put up with my workaholic self. I love my job but it means Im attached my my laptop and phone most of the time, I dont want to take time off but have to remind myself I should. Without Larissa who does so much editing for me I would probably have gone mad this year, she is a true star and has probably saved my sanity more than a dozen times this year. Last but not least Hannah my number one sidekick at most of the other weddings for 2013, she makes me laugh and is wonderfully talented. I love you all
And extra thanks go to Catherine, Maria, Greg, Yolande and Adrian who have all helped out throughout 2013 and been wonderful.
Such a fab collection of images Julia. Love your fresh contemporary style.
FABULOUS!
