Plan a Home Counties wedding and you’ll have some of the most swoon-worthy wedding locations to choose from. As a fine art wedding photographer, I’m lucky enough to spend a lot of time getting to know these luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire intimately.
Here, I share six of my favourite luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire to inspire your own venue hunt. Good luck!
The Priory
Choosing luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire doesn’t mean ruling out more rustic settings. Enter The Priory, where charm meets luxury in the most intoxicating blend. Huge timber beams, flagstone floors and a vaulted ceiling give the barn the wow-factor. Dress the space with oversized balloons, blossom trees or festoon light canopies. Your fine art wedding photographer will capture the dreamiest photos here. Laura and Dominic’s wedding at The Priory is the perfect example.
Offley Place
Dappled light beneath ancient trees. Secret hideaways between towering hedgerows. An orangery setting with breath-taking whimsy… Inside or out, rain or shine, Offley Place is an enchanting venue. We made the most of every charming canvas at Suzy and Christian’s Offley Place wedding, combining bright and fun group garden photos with romantic, glowing sundown shots.
Coltsfoot Country Retreat
Tucked away in a tranquil Hertfordshire hamlet, Coltsfoot Country Retreat delivers the country wedding dream. You can even pose with the resident llamas for totally adorable wedding party photos! Backdrops of rolling fields, tree-lined hills and big open skies set an utterly romantic scene. Inside, a modern interior is matched with golden beams for a party space that is lovely and light. Tewin Bury Farm
Of all the luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire, Tewin Bury Farm has a special place in my heart. That’s because it was the location for one of my very first weddings, over a decade ago – time flies!
The historic barn stuns with gauzy drapes, glowing fairy lights and a timber balcony mezzanine. Beautifully planted borders, leafy trees and floral arches make the garden a fairy-tale setting for cocktails, canapes and your confetti photo. Victoria and Mark tied the knot at a romantically rustic Tewin Bury Farm wedding. Take a peek at the lovely details from their big day.
Ashridge Estate
Luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire don’t get any more fairy-tale than Ashridge Estate. Picture flower beds frothing with roses, the most opulent period features you’ve ever seen and a double staircase fit for royalty (and perfect for your bridesmaid photos), and you’re only just beginning to uncover this venue’s magic.
Shendish Manor
Attractive garden buildings create a whole host of opportunities for your wedding portraits at Shendish Manor. This venue is beautiful year-round, but in the springtime it really comes into its own with a sea of mature rhododendrons in full pastel flower.
The historic stone manor house itself features glamorous columns and elegant archways, creating a dramatic location for your first dance (just take a look at Alex and Ennio’s Shendish Manor wedding!). This really is one of the most timeless of all luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire.
Whether you’re dreaming of a barn or mansion, I hope my hand-picked selection of luxury wedding venues in Hertfordshire has given you lots of exciting possibilities. Time to draw up a short list and book a visit!
