If you’re on the hunt for a venue, you’re at the start of a very exciting journey. Choosing from the luxury wedding venues in Essex and the style of Essex wedding photography that you’d like to capture it are two of the biggest planning decisions you’ll make.
Take your time and don’t be afraid to ask for advice. This guide will be a starting point – I can’t wait to see where it takes you.
Braxted Park
Formal gardens, glassy lakes and country house charm make Braxted Park perfect for couples who want to combine the opulent and romantic.
Inside the house, huge octagonal-paned windows in the Ballroom will bathe your reception in light, while the meadows and walled garden create ever-changing and utterly romantic Essex wedding photography locations.
In addition to the Georgian house, there’s also a fairy-tale Orangery for your ceremony. The chic canvas that is the Pavilion presents another elegant reception location.
Take inspiration from Hayleigh and Ben’s sun-kissed shots at their sensational Braxted Park wedding, as well as Gemma and Paul’s beautiful day at Braxted Park.

Blake Hall
While this venue might go by the name of ‘Hall’, what you’re really getting is an ultra-luxe barn setting. Packed to the rafters with romance, you’ll glide down an aisle surrounding by restored timber beams.
Newly married, make your next stop this venue’s pretty garden like you can see in my Blake Hall wedding photography portfolio. With pockets of woodland, rambling roses and charming archways, it’s a match made in heaven for fine art Essex wedding photography.
Houchins
If you’re looking for a luxury Essex wedding venue with bohemian flair, you’ll fall head over heels for Houchins.
There’s a stylish wedding barn on-site, but many couples opt for an open-sided marquee in the gardens. The glowing light as evening falls around you is a photographer’s delight.
Make a date to slip away for romantic photos during the golden hour. The meadows around Houchins are an incredible location for this – one look at these Houchins wedding photos will blow you away.
Gaynes Park
Gaynes Park is an especially magical Essex wedding venue for us because my assistant photographer actually tied the knot there herself!
The Gather Barn is undeniably the star of the show for alfresco ceremonies. You get the beauty of a barn’s beams with a breath of fresh air that is relatively weatherproof – a big bonus in Britain!
With an orangery, English garden and separate party barn too, this luxury Essex wedding venue ticks a lot of boxes. There are so many picturesque locations for your Essex wedding photography as you can see.

Hedingham Castle
Hedingham Castle is every bit as magnificent as it sounds. Picture dramatic stone walls illuminated by softly flickering candles and fairy-tale shadowed corridors for first-look photos.
I love capturing the details of a Hedingham Castle wedding, preserving the magic of your big day for years to come.
After the moody romance of your castle ceremony, the grounds, lake and airy marquee create a striking, but no less romantic, contrast.
Gosfield Hall
Arguably one of the most glamorous wedding venues in Essex, a Gosfield Hall wedding delivers Georgian romance on a huge scale. Your walk down the aisle will be an event itself here, it’s that long!
Wood-panelled walls, elegant fireplaces and period features are softly lit by chandeliers. Overall, the effect is elegant and romantic. The perfect fit for a day that will go down in history for the two of you.
So, there you have it, six of my favourites, but you can check out more of luxury wedding venues in Essex portfolio here.
Enjoy the venue hunt!
